Biddy remembers your pricing rules
Up until now, Biddy was great at answering questions and editing the proposal in front of you — but it didn't have a memory across projects. If you said "I always charge a minimum of $1,200 for a small bath demo," that note helped on the current proposal and then disappeared.
That's changed. Biddy now actively listens for rules you state and offers to save them permanently.
What changed
When you tell Biddy something that sounds like a cross-cutting rule — phrases like "I always", "every time", "whenever", "I never", "for any" — Biddy proposes saving it as a pricing rule. You see a confirmation card with the proposed rule and a one-sentence reason. Hit Confirm and the rule is saved to your pricing strategy.
From that point forward, every proposal you generate has access to that rule. Biddy can apply it without needing to be reminded.
Some examples of rules contractors have saved:
- "Always charge a minimum of $1,200 for small bath demo"
- "Add a 15% rush charge when the timeline is under 2 weeks"
- "Heated floor installs are minimum $2,500 regardless of square footage"
- "Permit pull is $350 flat in Austin city limits"
Service-specific rules too
Some rules apply to one service, not your whole catalog. ("For waterproofing, always add 20% to the labor side for shower curbs.") Biddy can save those as pricing guidance on that specific service — separate from your global rules.
Managing your saved rules
Open /settings/pricing to see everything Biddy has saved. You can:
- Re-activate a rule you dismissed earlier
- Delete rules you no longer want
- Tweak any rule by editing the rule text directly
There's also a settings section for how aggressive Biddy should be about detecting pricing drift — how often it should pipe up when your prices on similar work start to diverge.
[!tip] Don't worry about being too rule-happy. Biddy reads all your rules every time it generates a proposal, but the AI is good at applying only the ones that actually apply to the current job.
