Biddy now walks you through building + completing services

A new conversational wizard inside Biddy creates services from scratch, completes the missing fields on AI-created services, and suggests starter materials + task lists — all without leaving the chat. Launch it from the dashboard mission cards or the "Build with Biddy" button on your services list.

Biddy now walks you through building + completing services

Building out a service catalog used to mean opening each service in turn, picking a pricing model from a dropdown, writing a description, guessing at unit labels, and then clicking through to Generate AI suggestions for materials and tasks. Easy when you knew what you were doing. Tedious when you had 10 incomplete services sitting in your catalog from past proposals.

Now Biddy does it for you, conversationally.

Two ways in

From the dashboard. When Biddy spots a service that's missing details, materials, or tasks, you'll see a mission card like "Build 'Tile Demolition'" or "Pick products for 'Schluter Edge Trim'." Tap it and Biddy opens directly into that service's wizard. Each service has its own thread that picks up where you left off if you leave and come back.

From the services list. Each row has a tinted purple "Build with Biddy" or "Verify picks" button (depending on what's needed). Tap it to dive in. There's also a "Create with Biddy" CTA at the top for starting a brand-new service from scratch.

What Biddy walks through

The wizard is short — 2 to 6 quick-tap questions depending on what the service already has filled in:

  1. Name + category (only on brand-new services). Biddy proposes a specific category based on the service name — "Plumbing rough-in" → Plumbing — rather than dumping the full 17-option list.
  2. Pricing strategy. Per sqft, per linear ft, hourly, per item, one flat price, pass-through, or bundle — tap your choice.
  3. Fixed or range? Same price every job, or varies between a min and max.
  4. Unit name (only when the pricing strategy needs one). Each, niche, fixture, hour, day — tap.
  5. Price amount. Type the dollar amount.
  6. Description. Biddy drafts a 1-2 sentence description for you based on the service name + category + earlier conversation. Tap Confirm to save it, or tap Reject to write your own.
  7. Materials + tasks. "Want me to suggest a starter materials + task list based on similar services in your catalog?" Tap yes — Biddy fires the AI generator and the new rows land directly in your service. Each row gets a "Verify" badge so you can confirm them as your real go-tos with one tap.

Every save uses a confirm card so you see exactly what's about to happen before it lands.

The new completion meter

The header on each service page now shows a small purple Details ring. The Materials and Tasks sections each have their own ring next to their banner — green for Materials, yellow for Tasks. Each ring has three states:

  • Empty (gray) — nothing generated yet
  • Light — rows exist but you haven't verified them all
  • Bright — every row is verified and good to go

The dashboard mission for the service updates in real time as you complete each ring, so you can watch progress without refreshing the page.

On the services list

Every row now has a small box icon for materials (green) and a check icon for tasks (yellow). Gray when empty, lit-up colored when populated, with a tooltip showing exactly how many are verified vs pending. Plus a small stage badge — "Drafting," "Needs materials/tasks," "Verify pending," or "✓ Complete" — so you can scan your catalog and see at a glance which services are production-ready.

Why this matters

Most contractors have services in their catalog that are "kinda done" — pricing's in but description is empty, or materials exist but nobody verified them. Those services hit proposals as half-baked anchors, and the AI fills in the gaps with its best guess. Verified services give the AI a strong, trusted reference to build from. The wizard makes the journey from kinda-done to verified take a couple of minutes instead of half an hour.
