Per-role crew rates, a Crew tab on projects, and smarter waste

Per-role crew rates, a Crew tab on projects, and smarter waste

A few pricing upgrades — plus one thing we took away that you won't miss.

Price labor by crew role (optional). Most contractors bill one all-in day rate, and that still works exactly like before. But if your crews mix roles at different rates — a lead tile setter, a journeyman, a helper — you can now switch Labor to Per-role crew on your Pricing page and give each role its own day rate. Nothing changes until you opt in.

New Crew tab on every project. Once you're on per-role pricing, each project's Schedule, Tasks, and Crew section has a Crew view. It shows the crew that job needs — one lead, one journeyman, one helper — and blends their rates into one effective day rate for the bid (say, $1,900/day). The crew fills in automatically from the project's tasks, you can dial it by hand, and a per-project Flat / Per-role switch means an unfilled crew never throws off a quote.

Waste now applies to tile, not everything. Your waste factor is for the stuff you actually over-buy — tile, thinset, grout, leveling clips. It no longer pads membranes, backer board, fixtures, trim, or sealers, which you buy to the exact count. BidCraft handles this automatically, and every material has an "Apply waste %" checkbox if you want to override it on a specific line.

"Do you include tile cost?" If your clients usually buy their own tile, BidCraft can now leave field tile out of the materials cost while still counting the thinset, grout, membranes, and trim you supply.

The regional multiplier is gone. Your day rate is already your market's number, so there was never anything extra to add — the separate regional knob was dead weight. Pricing is unchanged; there's just one less thing to set. The pricing interview no longer asks about it either.
