Your clients have their own portal now

Every contact in BidCraft now has a customer portal — a single link they can open on their phone (no login, no app to download) that shows everything they have going on with you. Active projects, signed agreements, what's been paid, and the updates you post as the job moves along.

What changes for you

  • The link goes out automatically in every proposal, change order, and invoice email — under a small footer that says "View all your projects at any time." So the moment you send the first proposal, they already have it.
  • You can post updates from the project page. There's a new Project updates section under Schedule & tasks. Type what's new, attach photos if you want, hit Post. It shows up on their portal immediately.
  • You decide what tasks they see. Tasks are private by default. Open any task and tick Share this task & its photos with the homeowner to expose just that one, or flip the new Share all tasks on customer portal checkbox at the top of Schedule & tasks to expose every task on this project.
  • They can ask questions through a small form at the bottom of their portal. It lands in your inbox with their email on Reply-To, so you just hit Reply.

What changes for your clients

The portal is a clean, friendly page with their projects laid out top-to-bottom: a "What's next" card with the most important next action, each active project's status and timeline, every invoice you've sent across all their work with a Pay button when something's due, every signed document, and the running update feed.

There's nothing they can break. Pay buttons go straight to Stripe (when you're set up for that); document links open their signed proposal or change order.

How to find it

  • Open any contact → there's a new Open portal button right next to their email. Click it to see exactly what they see.
  • Copy link sits next to it for when you want to text or DM the URL directly.

What's not in this release

  • No photo uploads on the update form itself yet — for now, share photos through the task list instead. Coming soon.
  • No notifications. Updates are a "next time they check" experience by design — the link in their last invoice email is what brings them back.

The full how-to lives in the help center under Contacts → The customer portal.
