Fill in service details right from the template

Fill in service details right from the template

Project Templates just got a lot more useful. You can now author the full service — base price, materials, tasks, the whole shape — directly on each template line. No more bouncing back to the catalog to flesh out a service you sketched in the template.

An Edit details toggle on every line. Each line card now has an Edit details button. Open it and the line expands into a richer panel with the service core fields (base price, category, unit, pricing model, dimension variable), a compact materials section, and a compact tasks section. Edits autosave as template data — there's no Save button to forget.

One line open at a time. The expanded panels work as an accordion: opening a new line collapses whichever one you had open. Keeps the page from turning into a wall of nested editors when you're working through a Shower Remodel template with a dozen lines.

Promote to catalog service when you're ready. Once a line has a base price, at least one material, and at least one task, a Promote to catalog service button appears at the bottom of the expanded panel. One tap creates the real service in your catalog and links it to the template line. Until you click that button, the line stays as template scaffolding — no half-baked shell services cluttering your catalog.

Already-linked lines get a shortcut. When a line is already tied to a catalog service, the expanded panel shows a link straight to the full service editor instead of duplicating the inline fields. Title and scope blurb edits still apply to the template; bigger structural changes happen on the service page where there's more room to work.

AI suggest buttons on every line. The materials and tasks sections inside an expanded template line both have a Suggest with AI button. Click it and Biddy drafts a starter materials list (with quantity formulas and product picks pulled from your library and the master catalog) or a starter task list (with hours and skills) based on the line's title, scope blurb, and project type. You review, swap whatever you want, and the line's autosave persists it. Faster than authoring from scratch.

Service pages got a tightening pass too. The pricing guidance section starts collapsed. Materials and tasks each live inside their own collapsible section so you can hide them when you're focused on something else. Pricing mode swapped from a radio button stack to a single dropdown. Small info icons (hover for the explanation) replaced the longer wall-of-text descriptions on technical fields like Pricing Model, Dimension Variable, and Pricing Mode.

The result: you can shape a project type from start to finish without leaving the template, the catalog only fills up with services you've actually finished building, and the service editor itself is half the height it used to be.
