Drag your real schedule, click a task for the details, build in waits for other trades

The project Gantt is now fully interactive — drag bars to reschedule, click one for a side panel, assign a whole trade at once, and mark time you're waiting on someone else.

Drag your real schedule, click a task for the details, build in waits for other trades

Your project template's Schedule tab already let you drag bars around before a job even started. Now the real, signed-project schedule works the same way.

Drag bars right on the project page

Open a signed project's Schedule view and every bar is draggable, same as the template editor — drag one to move it, grab its edge to make it longer or shorter. It's push-later-only: moving or stretching a task can shift the tasks that depend on it further out, but shrinking or pulling a task earlier never yanks anything else forward on you. When a change does ripple, a quick toast tells you how many downstream tasks shifted. Finished tasks lock in place so you can't drag completed work by accident.

Click a task, get a side panel

Click any bar (or its label) and a drawer slides open with everything about that task — status, dates, dependencies, assignee, crew role, hours — no more full-screen popup for a quick edit. Clicking a task also lights up its dependencies right on the timeline: what it's waiting on turns sage green, what's waiting on it turns amber, everything else dims. Need the full editor with photos and time entries? There's a link at the bottom of the drawer.

Assign a whole trade in one shot

Above the schedule, you'll now see a shortcut for every trade with unassigned work — "Assign all 'Plumber' (3) →" — pick a person and every unassigned plumbing task on the job goes to them at once. The all-purpose "Assign all to…" is still there too, for anyone who doesn't have a role set yet.

Waiting on another trade ⏳

Not every gap in a schedule is downtime — sometimes you're genuinely waiting on someone else, like a rough-in inspection or a countertop template appointment. Build one in and it shows up on the Gantt as a hatched, amber ⏳ bar — instantly different from your crew's own work, fully draggable and dependency-aware, but it stays off your crew's plate and can't be clocked into. Add one on a live project with ⏳ Add wait in the List view, or set them up once on a project template so every future job of that type inherits the gap.

Where to look

Open any signed project's Schedule & Tasks section and switch to the Schedule view. Full rundown in Scheduling and crew assignment; building waits into a template ahead of time is covered in How Project Templates work.
