Step-based project flow

Project pages now move through three clear steps — Inputs & Analysis, Scope of Work, Proposal — with a rooms-first capture layout.

Step-based project flow

The old project page used a four-tab strip — Photos, Video, Voice, Notes, Floor Plan — and contractors kept missing the Cost Analysis and Receipts tabs entirely because they were buried at the same visual level. We rebuilt the whole flow around the three actual steps of building a proposal.

What changed

Every project now moves through three explicit sections:

  1. Inputs & Analysis — capture photos, voice notes, video walkthroughs, text notes. Run AI analysis on each room.
  2. Scope of Work — review the list of work the AI identified. Edit titles, descriptions, match to your services. Lock when you're ready to build.
  3. Proposal — the priced proposal. Edit, send, sign, invoice.

The active step glows terracotta and stays open. Completed steps get a green checkmark and collapse to a one-line summary you can re-expand any time. When you finish Step 1, Step 2 auto-opens — no clicking around to find what's next.

Rooms-first capture

The biggest change is inside Step 1. Instead of separate tabs for each input type, you now organize by room. Each room shows a three-box header right at the top:

  • Photo — amber when empty
  • Video — amber when empty
  • Notes — red when empty (notes are required — the AI needs your words to analyze accurately)

Tap a box to open the matching capture UI inline. The Notes box has a sub-picker with three icons: pencil for typed notes, mic for voice, camera for a handwritten note photo. Pick whichever's fastest for the situation you're in.

The big terracotta Analyze button sits at the bottom of each room and only fires when the room has at least one photo and one note. This is the single biggest accuracy improvement we've made — when you give the AI both visual and contextual inputs, dimensions come out 2–3x more accurate than visual alone.

What you still get

Everything from the old flow is still there, just organized differently:

  • Per-input editing, deletion, and re-assignment between rooms
  • Single-photo analysis (you don't need to upload two photos anymore to analyze a room)
  • Cost Analysis and Receipts tabs are now top-level and easy to find

[!tip] The "Add Room" button is always visible — even when you have zero rooms yet, it shows up as "Create Room 1." If you accidentally delete your only room, you can recover.

We've watched contractors use the old flow for months. The new flow gets to "first signed proposal" in roughly half the time.
