Your proposals, laid out your way
Plenty of tile guys don't price line by line. You write Primary Bath, list what's going in it, and put one number next to the room. That's how the homeowner reads it, that's how you've always done it — and until now BidCraft would hand you back a flat list of priced lines instead.
Now it reads how you lay out a proposal and writes the next one that way.
What's new:
- It learns the layout from your uploads. Upload past proposals the way you already can, and BidCraft picks up more than your prices: whether you group the work by room, whether each room shows one price, how you list the tile under a line ("Tile: Roman 16x16 Concrete Limestone – 160 SF"), whether your side notes start with an asterisk, whether you point back to the spec, and the lines you open every proposal with.
- You get to read it back in plain English. The second step of the review says things like "You group the work by room, and each room gets one price. Individual lines don't show a price." Uncheck anything that isn't you and we drop it. Reword a sentence that's close but not quite right, and your wording is what we save — and what we write with.
- Two switches if you'd rather just set it. Under Catalog → Proposal Settings there's a new Layout card: Group line items by room, and Show one price per room (hide per-line prices). No upload required. If you did upload, they're already set to match your proposals.
- You still see every number. Grouping by room changes what the client sees. Your own view and Cost Analysis show every line and what it costs, same as always.
If you've never uploaded a proposal and don't touch the new switches, nothing changes — your proposals come out exactly as they do today.
