Proposals now have a "valid until" date

Every proposal and change order you send can expire, so nobody signs last season's price. It is on at 30 days, you can change it per send, and extend it any time.

Proposals now have a "valid until" date

A contractor asked for this one: a way to stop a client signing an old proposal, without hiding it from them. Here it is.

What changes

Every proposal and change order you send now carries a valid until date: 30 days after you send it, unless you change the default. Your client sees it on the email, at the top of the proposal, and as a reminder in the last three days.

When the date passes, the proposal still opens and reads the same, but it can't be signed. Your client gets a Request an updated proposal button instead, and you get an email when they tap it.

Signed proposals never expire.

Setting it up your way

  • Your default: Catalog → Proposal Settings → Expiration & reminders. Pick 7, 14, 30 or 60 days, type your own, or turn it off.
  • One send: under the Send button, Valid until … · Change lets you pick another day or send with no expiration.
  • After it's out: on the proposal's tracking row, Extend 14 days or Change date. On an expired link, Reopen for 14 days makes the same link signable again, so there's no new link to send.

Proposals you sent before today keep what they had (no date).

One more thing: "Not Ready"

Moving a project to Not Ready tidies your lists; it doesn't stop your client signing. To stop a signature, set the proposal's date to today or revoke the link.
