See your cost and margin on every service — plus tiers grouped together

The Services list now shows Cost, Price, and Margin per row, groups Standard/Plus/Premium tiers into one family, and lets you preview numbers at your typical job size.

See your cost and margin on every service — plus tiers grouped together

Two upgrades to your service catalog, both aimed at the same thing: knowing where you actually make money without opening every service one at a time.

Cost, price, and margin — right on the list

Every row on the Services list now shows four numbers: Cost (materials + labor), Price, Margin (color-coded — green when it's healthy, amber when it's thin, red when it needs attention), and Basis (the job size those numbers are calculated against). Pass-through services like permits show "at cost" instead of a margin percentage.

See a small amber dot next to a service's cost? That means a material on the list still needs a product picked or a price set — the number showing is partial. Hover it for the specifics, then jump in and finish it off.

Tune the preview to your typical job

Cost and price for a per-sqft or per-linear-ft service only make sense next to a job size. Every service starts with a sensible default, but you can tap the job size right on the service page and set your own — the numbers recalculate immediately, everywhere that service shows up.

Tiers grouped into families

If you sell the same job in a few flavors — Standard, Plus, Premium — those now collapse into one row on the list with a "N tiers" pill. Expand it to see every tier indented underneath with badges showing what makes each one different. Search for a tier by name and its whole family opens up so you see it in context.

Creating a new tier is a one-tap + Variant button, right on the list or from inside a service. And anywhere you manually match a service to a line of work — scope review, project templates — the picker shows the same grouped view, so you can pick the exact tier the job calls for instead of settling for the base version.

New flags on every service

Each service now carries four simple switches: Taxable (sales tax applies on invoices — on by default), Allowance item (a budget placeholder whose real price gets set once selections are made), Allows customer write-in (lets a customer attach their own notes or selections to this line), and Specification item (a spec/detail line shown for clarity, not priced on its own). Find them on any service's detail page under Flags. An Allowance tag now shows next to a service's name on the list when that flag is on.

Set your own materials estimate

The Materials number on a service's Economics section is normally a roll-up of its materials list — but if that list is thin or you just know the number, click it and type your own estimate. BidCraft prices off your number and keeps the roll-up visible underneath for comparison, with a one-tap Use roll-up to switch back.

Price by markup or margin — whichever you think in

A small pricing grid — Unit Cost, Unit Price, Markup %, Margin % — now sits under every service's economics. Change any one number and the others recalculate to match. Default Crew-Days is also editable on every pricing model now, not just fixed-price services.

Crew can browse the catalog too

Crew team members can now open Catalog → Services to look up how a job is scoped and priced — the list and every service's detail page are fully visible, just read-only. Sales already had this; now crew does too.

[!note] This was reversed on 4 August 2026. Crew no longer see the Catalog at all. See Crew don't see the catalog any more. Sales still have it.

Picking a unit

Typing a unit label on a service (the "sqft" in "$14/sqft") now suggests from a full list of common trade units as you type — sqft, linear ft, hour, day, room, niche, bag, roll, and more. Type anything you want; the list is just a shortcut.

Cost codes for job costing

Every service can now carry an optional Cost code — an accounting code like "2200 Tile & Stone" for grouping services when you're doing job costing. It sits right next to Category on the service page, with the same type-ahead suggestions as the unit picker, and shows as a small muted line under Category on the Services list once you set one.
