Turn a past proposal into a project template

Turn a past proposal into a project template

Uploading a past proposal already pulled out your services and prices. Now it can also save the proposal's shape as a project template — the line items, in order, with your scope wording — so every future proposal of that type starts from a layout you've actually used.

Two ways to do it

  • On the proposal review screen (after uploading), click Save proposal as template at the top. Pick the project type and a name — done. You can still add services from the same screen; the two work side by side.
  • On the Project Templates page (Catalog → Project Templates), click Add template from proposal to upload one and go straight to saving it as a template.

What carries over

The line items and their order, plus your scope language. Lines that match a service already in your catalog get linked automatically; the rest come in as plain lines you can wire up later. Materials and tasks aren't pulled from the PDF — add those afterward from your services or with Biddy.

If you upload several proposals at once, you choose which one best represents the type. And saving over a template you already have keeps your last 5 versions, so a bad import is always one click from a rollback.

Where to start
