Generate any template — and BidCraft learns your style

New accounts now start with a clean Project Templates page and three fast ways to fill it — generate a template in your own style, install proven starters, or import a pack. Plus custom project types, portable template packs, and per-area line naming on proposals.

Generate any template — and BidCraft learns your style

We changed how your catalog gets built. New accounts used to land with all fifteen project templates pre-filled with our best-guess shape. Trouble is, "our best guess" isn't your shape — and untangling fifteen templates you didn't write is more work than it's worth.

So now your Project Templates page starts clean, and you fill it three ways — whichever's easiest:

✨ Generate any template

Pick a project type (or type your own, like Sauna floor) and BidCraft drafts the line items for you. Here's the part that gets better over time: BidCraft learns your style from the templates you keep. Once you've got a couple, each new generate matches how you name lines, how much you itemize, how you structure the work. The first one's a solid start. Every one after sounds more like you.

You'll see it play out with a little sparkle when the lines land. Review them, tweak anything, save — or hit Regenerate for a fresh take.

Browse starter templates

Want our proven starters for common jobs? Open Browse starter templates, pick the categories you actually do, choose Simple or Detailed, and install. They come in fully editable, and the moment you tweak one, it's yours.

Prefer a conversation? Shape it with Biddy

From the Power up your catalog mission, pick Shape it with Biddy. Biddy asks a couple of quick questions — do you name lines by room, do you offer tiers, simple or itemized — remembers your answers, and points you at Generate so your very first template already sounds like you.

Custom project types

Do work that doesn't fit a standard category? When you generate, pick Something else… and type the job — Pool deck, Steam room, Fireplace surround. It lands under Custom projects on your Templates page, and you can make as many as you need.

Template packs — share a whole set

Built templates you're proud of? Bundle them into a single pack file (no prices, no account details — just the shapes, materials roles, and tasks) and hand it to another contractor. Got a pack from a webinar? Import it and the templates come in ready to edit. Look for Import a pack on the Templates page.

Line names by area, on the proposal

If you name your proposal lines by room — "Master Bath — Shower Floor", "Hall Bath — Floor Tile" — tell Biddy once and BidCraft does it for you on multi-room jobs. When you lock a scope on a project with a few rooms, we'll offer to name any rooms still called "Room 1" so the line names read right. Skip it and your lines stay clean — we never make up a room name.

Already have templates from before this change? Nothing moved — every template you built stays exactly as it was. This only changes what new accounts start with, and it adds the generate / install / import options for everyone.
