Resending, revoking, and new shareable links
Once a proposal — or any change order on top of it — is out, you manage each link from two places on the proposal page (Bid → ② Proposal): the bar pinned across the top (its violet Resend button and its ··· menu), and the History panel you open from Open history › under the bar. Knowing which action to reach for saves a lot of confusion — both yours and your client's.
Where the actions live
The History panel has one row for the proposal and one for each change order, each with its own buttons: Copy link, View as client, Edit (a change order not signed yet), Revoke, and the signable-until date with Extend / Change date. Whatever you do on one row doesn't affect the other rows.
The proposal bar's ··· menu holds the proposal-wide ones: Get a shareable link / New shareable link, Resend signed copy (signed proposals only) and Revoke shareable link.
View as client
Use this when: you want to see exactly what the homeowner sees right now without bothering them.
View as client opens the homeowner-facing page in a new tab. It doesn't count as a view in the tracking metrics — so you can preview, sanity-check, or screenshot freely without polluting your own engagement data.
You'll see a banner across the top confirming you're looking at the client's view, with a Back to project link to get you home again. That banner is yours alone — your client never sees it. It's especially handy on a phone with BidCraft installed to your home screen, where there's no browser back button to fall back on.
Resend
Use this when: the homeowner can't find the email, lost the link, or you've edited the proposal and want them looking at the current version.
Once something has gone out, the violet button on the proposal bar reads Resend. Pressing it opens the same Send panel as the first send (To, CC, Signable until), and nothing goes out until you press Send inside it. Resend re-emails the same link — same URL, same row in History, same view history. What the client sees when they open it depends on where the proposal stands:
- Not signed yet? Resend refreshes the link with whatever is in the proposal right now. Bump a price, add a line, fix a typo, hit Resend — that's what they'll open. No second link floating around to confuse anybody.
- Already signed? The violet button is Change order by then, so use Resend signed copy in the ··· menu. It opens the Send panel without a date (a signed copy never expires) and sends a copy of the signed version, untouched. A signature is a record, and nothing you type afterward changes what they agreed to. Handy for "can you send me that signed copy for my records?"
A resend also gives an unsigned link a fresh expiration date: the one in the Send panel's Signable until, from your default unless you changed it. That includes a link that has already expired, so it becomes signable again on the same URL.
Either way, the total in the email matches the document behind the link — so the number in their inbox and the number on the page can't disagree.
[!tip] Resend is the right choice 80% of the time. Most "I didn't get your proposal" complaints turn out to be the email landing in spam, and a Resend after they've whitelisted you is enough.
[!warning] Editing a proposal after it's signed doesn't change the signed copy, and Resend won't push those edits out. To change the deal after a signature, create a change order.
Use this when: you want to send the share link through some other channel — text message, WhatsApp, follow-up email you're typing manually, a contact form on your website.
Copy link on a row in the History panel grabs that row's link and puts it on your clipboard. The button flips to Copied! so you know it landed. Paste it wherever. The link still works exactly the same — branded proposal page, signable, tracked.
Phones occasionally refuse to hand an app the clipboard. When that happens BidCraft opens your phone's share sheet instead — and if that's blocked too, it shows you the link right there on screen so you can press and hold to copy it by hand. Either way you'll know what happened; the button no longer goes quiet on you.
This doesn't fire any email or notification. Nothing happens until the client actually clicks the link.
Extend or change the date
Use this when: your client needs more time, or a proposal expired and they still want it at that price.
Open the History panel and, next to the row's Signable until date, tap Extend 14 days (Reopen for 14 days once it's expired), or Change date to pick a day or remove the date. Nothing is emailed; the link they already have simply works again. See Proposal expiration dates.
Revoke
Use this when: the share is no longer valid and you don't want the client viewing or signing against it. Maybe the scope changed, maybe you're renegotiating, maybe you accidentally sent it to the wrong client.
Tap Revoke on the row in the History panel (for the proposal, Revoke shareable link in the ··· menu does the same). It kills public access to that specific link, and its dot in the History line turns hollow. The next time anyone tries to open it, they see a "this proposal is no longer available" message instead of the proposal.
One thing revoke does NOT do: cancel invoices. If your client already has a payment link in their inbox, that invoice can still be paid — revoking the proposal link doesn't take money off the table. After paying, your client lands in their customer portal, so they always have a working page even when the proposal link itself is gone. If you truly don't want an invoice paid, void it from the project's Payments tab instead.
[!warning] Revoke is per-row. Revoking the original proposal doesn't revoke any change orders, and revoking a change order doesn't touch the original signed proposal. If you want to nuke everything, revoke each row.
If your client has already signed, the signature record stays in your project history (you don't lose the audit trail), but the homeowner can no longer view that proposal at that URL. Send them a copy via Resend signed copy or via a new link if they need ongoing access.
New shareable link
Use this when: you want a second, separate link with its own history — not an update to the one you already sent.
New shareable link in the ··· menu (it reads Get a shareable link before anything's out) creates a fresh signable proposal with whatever you've got in the proposal right now, at your default signable-until date, and copies the link. No email goes out. Links you already sent keep working until you revoke them. In History, links the proposal has replaced, revoked or let expire fold under it as ▸ N older links, with whatever happened on them (views) kept.
[!tip] Since Resend already carries your latest edits to an unsigned proposal, you need this less often than you'd think. Reach for it when you want the old link and the new one tracked apart — you revoked the first one, or it went to the wrong address and you want a clean row for the right one.
After signature, it's a change order
This is the big one. If the proposal has already been signed and you want to change the price or scope, you don't generate a new shareable link — you create a change order. A change order amends the signed proposal without scrapping it: the original signature is preserved, the homeowner signs only the change, and the billing lines up automatically.
See Sending a change order for the full walkthrough.
