Subscription tiers, trial, and billing
BidCraft is a monthly subscription. The plan you're on determines how many AI credits you get each billing cycle — the fuel for analyzing photos, generating proposals, and running Biddy conversations. Most contractors land on the right plan within their first month of real use.
The three plans
Plans are sized by AI credits, not by features. Every plan gets every feature — the difference is how much AI work you can do in a month before you hit the cap.
| Plan | Monthly AI credits | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Pro | 1,000 credits | Solo contractors doing 5–10 proposals a month |
| Premium | 5,000 credits | Busy single-truck operators running 20–30 proposals |
| Elite | 25,000 credits | Multi-crew teams, heavy photo analysis, lots of regenerations |
Credits are the unit of AI work. Roughly, generating a single proposal uses about 30–60 credits depending on how many photos you have and how much you regenerate; a long Biddy chat might use 5–20. The at-a-glance bar lives on Settings → Billing in the sidebar (under the Plan tab). For the full breakdown by AI action + month-over-month history, switch to the Usage tab on the same page.
Bonus credits you earn
On top of your monthly plan credits, you can earn bonus credits just by using BidCraft. Bonus credits stack up, roll over month to month, and are spent automatically once you've used up your monthly credits — so an active month is never wasted.
You earn bonus credits for:
- Unlocking achievements — the bigger the milestone, the bigger the bonus.
- Keeping a weekly streak going — show up all week, get a boost.
- Leveling up as you build out your catalog and close work.
These are tied to real work — closing jobs, building out your catalog, hitting milestones — rather than to simply opening the app.
When a bonus lands you'll see a quick "+credits" note pop up. Your rolled-over balance shows right on the Billing page under your monthly usage bar, and it's drawn on automatically the moment your monthly credits run out — nothing to click.
Your banked balance tops out at one month of your plan's credits. Once you're that far ahead you've got a full spare month in reserve, so new bonuses pause until you dip back under — and nothing you've already banked is ever taken away.
[!tip] If you're new, start on Pro. Almost nobody overruns Pro in their first month. You can upgrade in two clicks if you hit the cap.
Starting an account — and the old free trial
New accounts start on the website, on Pro, and are paid from day one. There's no free trial any more; instead there's a 60-day money-back guarantee — run real jobs through BidCraft, and if it isn't for you, email us within 60 days of your first payment for a full refund. Every feature is unlocked from the start.
Right after you pay, the thank-you page has a Create your account button, and we email you the same kind of link. Use either one to set your password. If you lose track of it, tap Forgot password on the login page with the email you paid with and we'll send a fresh one. More in Your account settings.
The phone apps are for signing in, not for signing up. If you open the app without an account, it tells you accounts are created on the website; once yours is set up, download BidCraft Tile from the App Store or Google Play and sign in with the same email and password. See Getting the BidCraft app on your phone.
If your account started on a free trial before that changed, nothing about your trial changes. A trial banner appears at the top of the app once you're down to 3 days remaining. If you don't add a payment method before the trial ends, you keep your login and your data — you can still open, read, print, and download every proposal and invoice you've already built. What pauses is the AI: photo analysis, proposal generation, and Biddy chat. Add a card and everything switches back on. If your trial has already ended, you don't need to start over — your rep can send you a link to pick a plan and pay, and it reactivates the account you already have, with every project and proposal still in it.
If your card fails during a normal billing cycle, you'll see a warning banner telling you the amount and the date that didn't go through, with a one-click link to update your card. That's a different message from the one you'd see if a trial ran out — BidCraft knows which situation you're in, so it won't tell you your trial ended when you've been paying for months. You can dismiss the banner to get on with your day; it comes back next time you open the app until the payment is sorted out.
Managing your subscription
Everything billing-related lives at Settings → Billing in the sidebar (or /settings/billing directly). The page has two tabs:
- Plan — current plan card, payment-method CTA, the at-a-glance usage bar, your Billing History, and the Manage Subscription button that opens the Stripe Customer Portal.
- Usage — the detailed breakdown by AI action (photo analysis, proposal generation, Biddy chat, etc.) shown in credits, 6-month history, and your rolled-over bonus balance.
The portal handles the things that need to be tied to your actual payment account: updating your card, canceling, and reactivating after cancel.
Billing history
Every charge on your account shows up under Billing History on the Plan tab — what it was for, the date, the amount, and whether it went through. Anything that didn't go through is marked Unpaid so you can spot it without hunting.
Each row has a Receipt link that opens the official receipt for that charge, which is the one to hand your bookkeeper or save for taxes. Print or download it from there.
If you've never been charged — you're still on trial, or on a plan your rep set up for you — the section will tell you there's nothing to show yet.
Adding a card — monthly or annual
If your account is still on one of the older trials, the Add Payment Method button takes you to a short upgrade page where you choose monthly or annual billing before entering your card. Annual is billed once a year and works out cheaper than paying month-to-month — the page shows the current price for each option and the annual savings, so you always see live pricing rather than a number that might be out of date. Your card is entered on Stripe's secure page; your trial keeps running and you're only charged when it ends.
Only the account owner can add or change the card. Admins, sales, and crew don't see billing.
How credits refill
Your monthly plan credits refresh at the start of each month. Plan credits themselves don't roll over — the meter resets to a full 1,000 (or 5,000 / 25,000). Bonus credits are different: they roll over and keep stacking until you actually spend them, so the credits you earn for staying active are always there waiting.
If you upgrade mid-cycle, you get the new plan's credits immediately (prorated), and any bonus credits you've banked come along untouched.
When you hit the cap
If you use up your monthly plan credits, BidCraft doesn't lock you out — proposals you've already built are still visible and editable. If you've banked bonus credits, they kick in automatically and AI work just keeps going. Once those are gone too, new AI work (fresh proposals, photo analysis, Biddy chat) pauses until your monthly credits refill — or you can upgrade to a higher plan to keep going right away.
