Your billing history, and messages that tell you what actually happened

Every charge on your account is now listed on the Billing page with a receipt link — and if a payment fails, BidCraft tells you that instead of saying your trial ended.

Your billing history, and messages that tell you what actually happened

Two fixes to the Billing page, both from the same real problem.

"Your trial has ended" — to somebody who'd been paying for a month

A contractor's renewal charge didn't go through. He opened BidCraft and got told his trial had ended and he needed to add a payment method. He'd been a paying customer since June. Meanwhile the banner at the top of every page told him something different — that a payment had failed.

Two messages, opposite stories, and neither one was reliably right. BidCraft knew the account was behind on payment but not why, so both messages were guesses.

Now it knows the difference:

  • Your trial ran out — you get told your trial ended and to add a card.
  • A payment failed — you get told the amount and the date that didn't go through, and that your projects and proposals are safe.

Both places say the same thing now. And if a payment does fail, you can dismiss the banner and keep working — it'll come back next time you open the app until it's resolved.

Billing history, right on the page

There was no way to see what you'd been charged without going through the Stripe portal. Now Billing History sits on the Plan tab under your usage bar.

Every charge, newest first: what it was for, the date, the amount, and whether it went through. Anything unpaid is flagged, so if something bounced you'll see it without going looking.

Each row has a Receipt link that opens the official receipt for that charge — the one to send your bookkeeper or file for taxes.

If you've never been charged yet, it'll say so rather than showing you an empty box.

Billing is owner-only, so this is what you see if you're the account owner. Full details in Subscription tiers, trial, and billing.
