Community chat — fix a typo, tag a pro, and unread counts that actually clear

You can now edit messages after sending them, tag someone with @, react in one tap, and the unread badge finally clears when you've read the room.

Community chat got a tune-up

Four things, all of them small annoyances that added up.

Unread counts clear now

This one was a bug, and it's fixed. The little count next to a channel was stubbornly refusing to go away no matter how many times you read the messages — it was counting every message ever posted in that room. Open a channel now and the count clears. Reload the page and it stays cleared.

While we were in there, we added a red New messages line so you can see exactly where you left off in a busy channel. Anything that comes in while you're reading lands below the line and doesn't shove your place around.

Fix a message after you've sent it

Wrong number, dead link, autocorrect doing autocorrect things — open the ⋯ menu on your own message and hit Edit. No time limit.

Edited messages get a small (edited) tag next to the timestamp, so nobody can quietly rewrite history. And nobody can edit your messages but you — not even an admin.

Tag someone with @

Type @, start typing a name, pick the person. Their name gets highlighted, and they'll see a red @ on that channel instead of the usual grey count — so a question aimed at them doesn't disappear into a busy room.

Reactions in one tap

The quick reactions used to be one click deep behind the +. Now, on a computer, just hover a message and the row appears right there: 👍 ❤️ 😂 🎉 👀 ✅ 🔥 🙌. On a phone, tap the + — same eight, same one tap.

And for admins

Platform admins can now create, rename, reorder, and archive channels from the Community rail — no more asking us to spin one up.
