Your flat and per-item prices now hold

A service with a flat price or a per-item price charges exactly that on every bid, and two niches cost twice what one does.

Your flat and per-item prices now hold

If you priced a service at one flat number or a price per item — a shower niche at $650, a bench at $1,200, a haul-away fee at $550 — BidCraft now charges exactly that. Before, some of those prices were quietly re-worked from your day rate when the bid was put together, so the number you set didn't always reach the proposal.

What changes

  • Flat prices stay flat. A service with a flat price shows that price on the scope and on the proposal, every time.
  • Per-item prices multiply by the count. One niche at $650 is $650. Two niches are $1,300. Open the line on the scope and change the count in its price box, and the proposal bills it the same way.
  • Your schedule still uses crew days. The crew-day estimate on those lines still sets how long the work takes on the Schedule. It just doesn't change what the client pays for them.
  • A typed rate and count work together. On a per-item line you can type your own price for this bid and a count, and the line charges price × count.
  • What you see is what builds. When you lock the scope, BidCraft re-checks every line against the prices on your screen, so the proposal bills exactly what the scope table showed.
  • Bids you already built don't move. A locked scope keeps showing the prices it was built with, and regenerating an existing proposal keeps its lines' prices — a catalog price only comes in on a line where your scope showed it. To bring an older bid up to your current prices, choose Re-scope: the table shows today's prices, and Lock & build bills exactly those.

Hourly services

  • Priced by the day (the service's unit is "day"): the line charges your day price × the line's crew days. Four days at $1,422 a day is $5,688.
  • Priced by the hour: open the line and type the hours in its Price section. The line then charges your hourly rate × those hours. Until you type hours, the line is priced the way it always was — your usual price for that service, or crew days × your day rate. BidCraft never guesses the hours for you.
