One leaderboard for every shop
Three changes to the Guild this week. One of them is about credits, so we're putting it up front rather than burying it.
Everybody's on the same board now
Challenges used to split the field by company size — solo contractors in one bracket, small crews in another, bigger teams in a third. The idea was that a one-person shop shouldn't get buried under a ten-person crew.
In practice it did the opposite. There just aren't enough shops in each bracket yet to make three separate contests. Most of the real competition was happening in one bracket, and if you weren't in it, your standings page showed you a race with nobody else in it. A couple of shops were finishing "first" every single week against a field of one.
So brackets are off for now. Every shop competes on the same board. You'll see the shops who are actually closing work this week, and your rank means something because there are real people above and below you.
If measuring yourself against a bigger outfit isn't your thing, that's fair — that's exactly what Your All-Time Records and your personal goals are for. Those only ever measure you against you, and they haven't changed.
We'll bring brackets back when there are enough shops competing to fill them properly.
Bonus credits earn more slowly now
Straight version: you keep every credit you've already banked. Nothing gets clawed back, nothing expires. What changed is how fast new ones come in.
The old rates were too generous, and we'd rather fix that now than let balances drift somewhere we can't sustain. Specifically:
- Daily-login credits are gone. They paid you for opening a page rather than for getting anything done. Your streak counter and your XP still tick up every day — it's only the credit part that stopped.
- Achievement and weekly-streak bonuses are smaller than they were.
- Level-up credits are unchanged — that one tracks real work, so it stayed put.
There's also a ceiling now: your banked balance tops out at one month of your plan's credits. At observed usage that's still many months of actual AI work sitting in reserve. If you're already above it, you simply stop accruing until you dip back under — you don't lose anything.
Worth saying plainly: almost nobody has ever needed these. The typical shop uses a small fraction of the credits their plan already includes, so the bonus pool is a cushion, not something you should be budgeting around.
The Guild page reads like a scoreboard
The Guild page had turned into one long scroll. It's been rebuilt:
- Your standing sits beside your all-time records at the top, and those record numbers finally get the big serif treatment they deserve.
- The rank ladder is a single horizontal path instead of nine stacked rows, so you can see the whole climb and where you are on it at a glance.
- Active challenges are real scoreboards — the current leader called out at the top of each card, the top five ranked beneath, and your own row pinned below if you're further down. Five places shown instead of three.
- Everything else — achievements, goals, your XP ledger, leaderboard settings — sits below in two columns instead of one long stack.
On a wide monitor the page now uses the whole screen. It's roughly half the height it was.
