Pricing interview, version 2

Pricing interview, version 2

The Phase 2 (Advanced) pricing interview got a full rework. Instead of one long back-and-forth, it's now three focused Stops — each one a complete chunk of work you can finish and walk away from.

Three Stops instead of one long interview

  • Stop 1 — Pick your favorite materials (~5 min). Biddy walks you through six categories — Walls, Floors, Waterproofing, Trim, Grout & Silicone, Miscellaneous — and you pick your go-to product for each role inside them. Your picks stick as favorites, so Biddy reaches for the right product every time instead of guessing.

  • Stop 2 — Capture your pricing rules (~6 min). Change orders, square-foot floors, rush surcharges, the stuff you've figured out the hard way over the years. Biddy asks one or two questions per category and saves them as structured pricing rules. After the last question, you land on your pricing rules page to review and add anything else.

  • Stop 3 — Walk through a template (~8-15 min depending on the template). Pick your most-bid project type — Shower Remodel, Full Bath, whatever you quote most. Biddy reads each line out loud and you confirm whether the title and scope blurb match how you'd actually describe the work to a homeowner.

Biddy can rebuild a template from a description

Don't like the default line structure? Just tell Biddy how you'd lay it out — "I want three lines: demo, rough work, tile and finish" — and it'll draft the new version for you to confirm. You don't have to work with whatever the defaults gave you.

You'll see exactly what changed

When Biddy applies a change during the walkthrough, the new value types itself in on screen. It's a small thing, but it means you actually notice what's different instead of wondering whether something moved.

Stop anytime — Biddy remembers

Finish Stop 1 today. Run a few real jobs. Come back for Stop 2 next week when there's a slow afternoon. Biddy picks up exactly where you left off every time.

Re-run it on a different template later

Stop 3 isn't one-and-done. Once you've walked through your Shower Remodel template, come back and do Full Bath. Or a Tub-to-Shower. Each template walkthrough teaches Biddy more about how you price that type of job.
