Your time, and submitting your week

Every clock-in already counts. My time shows where your week went, and how each job's hours stack up against the days you bid it. You're not retyping anything.

Everybody has My time, not just crew. Only crew submit their week for approval. Owners, admins and sales never see a submit button.

Where it lives

Open Time & Team from the sidebar. (Sales and crew see it as Time.) It opens on My time, your own week, for every role. Crew also have Time in the bottom bar, and the This week tile on their home screen jumps straight to it. On a phone, owners, admins and sales find it under More → Work.

The top of the page has your day clock (Start your day · Clock in) and + Add hours, so logging time is one tap away. Pick Week, Month or Quarter next to the dates. Use the arrows to step back one, and This week (or This month, This quarter) to jump back.

Reading the week

The big number is your week total, with how many of your working days have hours ("4 of 5 working days"). Working days come from your working hours on your Team profile; days you've booked off don't count.

Under it, each day is a bar. Each color is a job, the same color the job has on the schedule and calendar. A grey slice on top is time on the clock that wasn't on a job: drive time, the supply house, the dump. Real hours, just not billable to one job.

A working day with no hours shows a dashed box and + Add. If a past working day is empty, a flag at the top says so, like "Friday has no hours".

Tap a bar to open that day. You'll see each job and task with its hours, every time entry, and the day clock. You can edit any of them right there, or tap + Add hours for that day.

A day's total is the hours you were on the clock that day. The jobs and tasks are the breakdown of where those hours went, not extra time added on top.

[!note] Days from before you started using the day clock are totalled the old way, from your project and task time. That day says so when you open it. Nothing to fix.

A month or a quarter at a glance

Tap Month or Quarter to look further back. The page remembers what you picked, so a refresh keeps you there.

Month is a calendar. Each day shows its total and a thin strip of the jobs you worked, in the same job colors. A working day with no hours shows an empty box with a dash, so the gaps jump out. Days you booked off show a dashed box marked Off, including time off that's coming up. Today is outlined. Tap any day to open that week with the day already open, ready to edit. Back takes you to the month again.

Quarter is the quarter's weeks side by side (thirteen or fourteen columns), one square per day. The darker the square, the more of a full working day you logged. A dashed square is a day off. Each week's total sits under its column. Tap a week to open it.

Next to either one, Hours by job, against the bid shows every job you worked in that month or quarter, with your hours for the whole stretch. The days logged against the days bid still count the whole job.

Hours by job, against the bid

Next to the week is every job you worked that week, with your hours on it. Owners, admins and sales also see a bar of days logged against days bid for the whole job, with a tag:

  • on track: at or under the days in the bid
  • 0.6 over (brass): past the bid
  • 3 over (red): more than a quarter past the bid
  • no bid days: the job's proposal has no crew days to compare to

Days bid are the same crew days the job's Costs page shows. A day logged is one day of the crew: if you and a helper are both on the job Tuesday, Tuesday counts once. A long day can count for more than one. "A day" is each person's working hours (8 hours if they haven't set any), so a setter who works 10-hour days isn't shown as over. Days logged count the whole job and everyone on it, not just this week.

Crew see their hours on each job, without the bid numbers.

Owners and admins: whose time?

If you have a team, a row of people sits under the tabs: You, then each member. Tap someone to see their week live, as the hours land, with the same bars and day details. Their month and quarter work the same way. The title then says whose time it is. Nobody has to submit anything for you to see it, so mid-week you can check that someone actually clocked in this morning.

The Approvals tab is the other question: weeks that have been submitted and are waiting on you. It shows once you have crew or a submitted week is waiting. When you look at a crew member's week on My time, you also see where that week stands (draft, submitted, approved or sent back), read-only.

You can't submit somebody else's week. That's theirs to send in.

Days are your days

Hours land on the day you worked them, on your own clock. A job you clocked at 7pm Monday shows up on Monday, not Tuesday. That holds wherever you are and whatever time of year it is.

Crew: when you can submit

The Submit for approval card sits under your hours on the Week view. You can submit a week once it's over. The current week and any future week can't be submitted. From Monday morning of the next week, open last week and the button comes alive.

Add a quick note if there's anything your supervisor should know: overtime, drive time you forgot to clock, a short day. It's optional, but it saves an awkward conversation later.

Tap Submit for approval. The week flips to Submitted and the button locks.

After you submit

Your supervisor sees your week on the Approvals tab. They can either:

  • Approve it. The week is locked in for payroll and shows Approved.
  • Send it back with a note. The week flips to Needs fix and the note shows on your submit card. Fix what they asked for, then resubmit.

You can resubmit a sent-back week as many times as it takes. Each resubmit clears the previous review.

Adding or fixing hours

Tap the day and use + Add hours, or the + Add hours button at the top. Pick the job, type the hours, save. The day's entries and its day clock are listed in the day too, so you can fix a start time or a note without leaving the week. See Logging hours after the fact.

If you change hours in a week you already submitted, the week comes back to you as Amended so you can resubmit it with the right total.

What if I forgot to clock in on Tuesday?

Tap Tuesday's dashed box (or open Tuesday) and tap + Add hours. Pick the job and enter the time you actually worked. The hours land on Tuesday and count toward the week.

What if I'm on the clock when I check?

That's fine. My time shows live hours, including a day you're still on the clock for. The number ticks up as you work.

My grey "not on a job" slice looks too big

That usually means you were on the clock but never clocked onto a job, which is easy to do on a busy morning. Crew can mention it in the note when they submit. The hours aren't lost; they're just not attached to a job.
